Anders B. Møller will be the new Director of Facilities at DTU, where he will continue to create the best possible conditions for research and education.
Anders B. Møller has been appointed new Director of Facilities at DTU after three months as Acting Director. He will continue to develop and expand DTU’s campuses, focusing on sustainability and digitalization.
Anders B. Møller comes from a position as Operations Manager at DTU Campus Service (CAS)—where he, together with the rest of the CAS management team—has been responsible for the construction and commissioning of many new buildings since 2012. In addition, he has been in charge of important tasks such as decommissioning Lindholm, where DTU Vet previously researched infectious diseases in animals, and moving DTU Vet’s activities from Frederiksberg to the University’s Lyngby Campus.
“I’m pleased to welcome Anders as Director of Facilities. Anders has extensive knowledge of DTU and has for the past 22 years worked to promote the University’s goal of creating the best possible conditions for excellent research and education,” says University Director Claus Nielsen.
Reducing CO2 emissions
Anders B. Møller began his career at DTU in 2000 as Head of Section at the then Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, which is now DTU Risø Campus. Here, he took part in building a number of important research facilities, for instance DTU’s energy laboratory, System Integration Lab (SYSLAB), the Poul la Cour Wind Tunnel, which is among the largest university-owned tunnels in the world, the supercomputer Computerome, which performs life science calculations, and the Hevesy Laboratory, which produces radioactive drugs. In addition, he played a key role in the merger with DTU.
For the past many years, Anders B. Møller has worked to promote sustainability across DTU’s campuses. This has, among other things, resulted in a 50 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions over the past ten years. In an international perspective, Anders B. Møller has since 2013 participated in the sustainability network International Substainable Campus Network (ISCN), where universities from all over the world work to promote sustainability on their campuses.
Digitalization is also close to his heart. According to Anders B. Møller, the digital agenda is crucial for CAS to be able to process and utilize data documenting the use of buildings and thus provide valuable knowledge that can be used to optimize DTU’s buildings and areas. This applies to both new and old buildings.
“Based on my broad knowledge of the many extraordinary corners of the University, I’ll work to support a healthy and sustainable development of the physical framework to ensure that DTU is the preferred university for national and international researchers and students,” says Anders B. Møller.
“DTU is a fantastic workplace with incredibly talented and committed employees. It’s important to safeguard such a well-functioning organisation and, not least, ensure a continued close and trusting collaboration with researchers and students. That’s one of the things I as Director of Facilities will always aim to guarantee."
