The Quantum Terminal is the first centralised collaboration space for researchers, developers, engineers and entrepreneurs working to advance quantum technology, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence in Sydney. The Quantum Terminal - which is located in three floors of re-purposed space in Central Railway Station - includes Q-Ctrl*, Sydney Quantum Academy* and Quantum Brilliance.
"We are proud to be key partners of The Quantum Terminal and Tech Central and look forward to working closely with the NSW Government and key partners to bring this exciting, world-class innovation and technology precinct to life," said Professor Mark Scott, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sydney.
"We'll be sharing the lessons we've learnt through our deep experience developing ground-breaking multi-disciplinary research, fostering innovation and supporting the commercialisation of successful start-ups.
"We're also encouraged by the release of the NSW Government's new transport strategy for the precinct. It reflects the advice we've given about the transport challenges in the Camperdown area, particularly the lack of rapid, regional mass transit, increasing congestion and Redfern rail station at absolute capacity.
"We've long been calling for a new metro station at Camperdown to better service Tech Central, RPA Hospital, our Camperdown Campus and the surrounding community.
"We strongly support the Government's transport vision for the precinct as an activated, walkable and integrated innovation district where residents, visitors and workers can interact and linger in great places and public spaces."
Tech Central is predicted to bring up to 25,000 jobs to NSW and brings together six key industries to accelerate critical changes to society and the economy - medtech, digital creatives, Artificial Intelligence, quantum technologies, connected and autonomous vehicles and applied robotics.
