The University of Copenhagen has a new innovation centre director

Innovation centre director

Marius Sylvestersen is the University of Copenhagen’s first director of a newly established shared innovation centre.

Marius Sylvestersen comes from a position as Programme Director of Copenhagen Solutions Lab in the City of Copenhagen, and he has extensive insight into digital transition and green development as well as setting up public-private partnerships.

Large potential in further developing an innovation ecosystem

Marius Sylvestersen will take up the position on 9 August and will be heading a new shared innovation centre that is currently being established at the University of Copenhagen. The innovation centre will help turn researchers’ and students’ knowledge into new innovation and new growth businesses. Some 300 businesses a year are already a product of the University of Copenhagen, but there is still a large potential in further developing an innovation ecosystem that is also of interest in an international context.

“We’re very pleased to have Marius on board. He has the perfect profile when it comes to uniting and growing the University of Copenhagen’s innovation activities with a particular focus on students’ inventive entrepreneurship,” says David Dreyer Lassen, Prorector for Research at the University of Copenhagen.
