The 5.8 magnitude quake was measured at a depth 40 kilometers, and the tremor was felt some 38 km northwest of Les Cayes, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). Earlier Saturday, at least 304 people were killed and many more were feared dead after a major earthquake struck western Haiti, leveling homes and buildings to rubble. A series of smaller aftershocks continued to shake the island after the original quake, USGS reported. Saturday's earthquake comes just over two weeks since a massive 8.2 earthquake rattled buildings in Alaska and prompted Tsunami warnings in Hawaii.
