Oprah Winfrey is recovering after being admitted to a hospital for “very serious” stomach problems. “She had some kind of stomach thing — stomach flu — where stuff was coming out of both ends. Hours after King revealed why Winfrey was absent, the Oprah Daily Instagram account released a statement saying the mogul is on the mend. Winfrey is recovering following a stomach virus and received an IV due to dehydration at the recommendation of her doctor. The film was nominated for an Oscar and won 11 NAACP Image Awards — including Outstanding Motion Picture; Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture; Outstanding Actress for Fantasia Barrino; Outstanding Supporting Actor for Colman Domingo; and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Taraji P. Henson.
