JBI at the University of Adelaide is seeking a qualified candidate for a fixed-term, full-time position available for 36 months as a Research Fellow. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global leadership in evidence-based healthcare.

An exciting opportunity to join JBI, an internationally renowned evidence- based healthcare organisation with a mission to improve health outcomes in communities globally by promoting and supporting the use of the best available evidence to inform decisions made at the point of care.

The JBI Collaboration (JBIC), established in 1996, is a global collaborative evidence network spanning 40 countries and comprising more than 90 entities, including universities, hospitals, NGOs, and research and policy institutes. These entities work towards a shared vision of promoting and supporting evidence-based healthcare to improve health outcomes globally.

This significant global evidence network helps to ensure that the research evidence we seek to synthesise, transfer, and implement remains culturally inclusive and relevant across the diversity of healthcare internationally. It also significantly amplifies the reach and impact of our research outcomes, and promotes and enhances our relationships with our global partners and their associated research and medical communities.

We are seeking an experienced academic to guide and manage this network of global partners to advance evidence-based healthcare. Working closely with the Executive Director and Executive Team at JBI, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting and communicating the vision and goals of the collaboration, ensuring alignment with JBI's mission to improve health outcomes through evidence-based practices; supporting initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals globally through education, training programs, and workshops; cultivating relationships with universities, hospitals, and healthcare organisations to foster research collaboration and resource sharing; and representing JBI at international forums, influencing healthcare policy, and advocating for the integration of evidence-based practices in healthcare systems.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in the discipline or have equivalent qualifications or research experience.
  • Demonstrated experience to conduct independent high-quality research, including leading research, where applicable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate across disciplines and collaborate with external stakeholders within government, non-government and/or community.
  • Proven ability to perform administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research.
  • Strong track record of high-quality publications, reports or conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Enjoy an outstanding career environment
