Duties: • Assist with field collection of soil, sediment, vegetation, and water samples • Prepare equipment (e.g., photospectrometer) and materials (soil and vegetation samples) for research • Perform standard laboratory analysis (e.g., texture, bulk density) • Perform data entry, summarizing, and reporting • Assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations • Perform routine clerical and administrative duties to support research activities and other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have experience in: • Laboratory preparation and analysis of soil and vegetation samples • Field collection of soil and vegetation samples • Traveling and working in rural areas • Strong organizational skills • MS Excel, R, or other suitable software for managing data and data analysis

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in physical geography, environmental science, biology, or other Earth science disciplines • possess a valid Manitoba driver's license
