Step into the world of tomorrow and participate in the development of new technologies and applications that offer solutions to major social issues. TU/e is the place 'Where innovation begins'.
An ambitious university requires committed support for its students and academic staff. Within the Library and Information Services (LIS) department, the library (www. tue.nl/library) is responsible for a broad range of services in the provision of scientific information. The library is content provider of scientific literature and databases, provides services that register, disseminate and analyze the research output, provides education in information literacy, and it supports the transition to open scholarly communication and Open Science.
Within LIS we are looking for a Research Analytics Specialist. In this challenging position you support the university with issues related to research quality and research performance. The analysis and management of bibliometric data forms the basis of the service. TU/e uses the SciVal product for this.
Together with colleagues, you support and advise the Executive Board and deans on the quantitative and qualitative analysis / interpretation of TU/e research results in relation to the international research landscape. You also support the recruitment of academic staff by analyzing the international research field.
In addition, you investigate (over time) the extent to which alternative databases and indicators can be used to obtain a more complete picture of TU/e research.
In this position you work closely with policy officers from the general affairs department, you support colleagues from LIS with relevant issues and you participate in a national network of colleagues.
Although there is already some knowledge and experience with research analytics at TU/e, it is up to you to further develop and disseminate this service and expertise. To do this, you proactively investigate where and how research analytics can contribute to TU/e and you support / instruct other users.
Other responsibilities:
An academic working level and knowledge of and/or affinity with the research field. Command of the English and (preferably also) Dutch language, both spoken and written.
