The Pregnancy Obesity Nutrition Child Health (PONCH) study investigates how obesity and diabetes during pregnancy affect both the mother and the child in the short and long term. We follow mothers and children during and after pregnancy, studying diet, physical activity, body composition, blood glucose, fats, hormones, metabolites, and the properties of adipose tissue. The project began in 2009, and so far, around 750 women have been recruited for various parts of the study.
