Job description

We are currently looking for a highly motivated doctoral researcher for a new position within the Ultrafast Dynamics in Nanoscale Systems group at Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands). This position is funded by the ERC project “EQUATE”, which has the aim of engineering quantum materials for terahertz applications. In particular, the goal is to study the ultrafast thermodynamic properties of layered quantum materials, and exploit these properties towards functional terahertz devices with unprecedented performance.

You will be working in a multidisciplinary team embedded in the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education. The group is part of the Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute, the Center for Quantum Materials and Technology and the Center for Terahertz Science and Technology. For more information on our research group, see www. ultrafastdynamics.com.

We offer excellent primary and secondary benefits, a highly innovative and prospering academic ecosystem, and are situated in one of the strongest high- tech hotspots worldwide.

Job requirements
  • Motivated researcher, with a MSc in (applied) physics or a similar degree
  • The ideal candidate would have experience in research on 2D materials and/or experience with (ultrafast) optical techniques and/or terahertz spectroscopy and/or nanofabrication
