    Position description

The University of California, Irvine School of Law Master of Laws Program is inviting qualified lecturers to teach courses. The Master of Laws Program includes both the American Law LL.M. Program and the Graduate Tax Program.

The LL.M. program in American Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law offers a rigorous academic program in a collegial, welcoming environment for legal professionals educated and/or licensed to practice law in a jurisdiction outside of the United States. Our students benefit from learning and mentorship in a close community of scholars, including our world- renowned faculty. Our global LL.M. students have access to a full array of practical opportunities including clinics, student journals, externships, and more.

The Graduate Tax Program at the University of California, Irvine School of Law offers an innovative, one-of-a-kind LL.M. curriculum that instills students with both the doctrinal depth and the practical skills needed to practice tax law at the highest levels, in the United States or abroad. The Graduate Tax Program aims to produce graduates who are prepared for careers as tax attorneys, judges, tax administrators and policy advocates, as well as markedly enhancing the tax skills of those who are already members of the tax profession.

While of the School of Law is open to proposals for courses reflecting the expertise of experienced practitioners or academics which compliment the goals of the curriculum of each program, we regularly seek qualified instructors to teach courses such as:

    • Reading, Analysis and Writing in American Law • International Dispute Resolution • Estate Planning • Advanced Estate Planning

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus, handouts, exercises, final exams and other assessments), and maintaining a course website. UCI Law is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching.

To receive full consideration for any openings, submit a complete application. Completed applications will be reviewed when openings arise. Additional materials and/or references may be requested of finalists. Candidates who are interested in remaining in the pool after the final date will need to submit a new application.
