Job description
About Us
The CRUK Scotland Institute is a leading cancer research centre based at the University of Glasgow's Garscube Estate in Bearsden, supporting cutting-edge work into how cancers develop and spread with the goal of finding better ways to treat them. As well as core support from Cancer Research UK, we receive an additional third of our income from external grants and industry collaborations. Key to our research ethos is excellence, openness, and integrity.
Position Outline
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide high quality personal assistant support to members of our Senior Faculty Team which is comprised of scientific and operational senior managers who require varying degrees of administrative support including diary management, travel booking, arranging meetings and venues, preparing expenses and minute taking. You will also be providing administrative support for the Institute's scientific reviews. This will include booking rooms and venues, organising catering and on occasion preparing agendas and minuting meetings.
You will be highly motivated, looking for a challenge and able to work on your own initiative. You will have significant experience working in a PA role, along with experience of working with senior managers. Experience of working within an academic, clinical or scientific environment is desirable.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent relevant experience), you will be a calm, capable PA with a good eye for detail who is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and will have a proven track record in a similar administrative capacity. You will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient with using standard Microsoft Office suite of packages and be able to work both as part of a team or independently.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Our overarching research ethos at the Institute is about excellence, honesty, openness, accountability and integrity. The diversity of our staff and students is also what makes the Institute such a vibrant place to work and advance discoveries in cancer research. Family friendly policies, our collaborative ethos, a focus on good mental health and well-being and opportunities for all help to create an enjoyable and inclusive workplace where your voice matters.
