Be part of the Centre for Automotive Safety Research and contribute to our long history of saving lives and reducing harm through a range of diverse and challenging research fields.

Conduct applied research that makes a difference to communities locally and around the world.

The Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR) at the University of Adelaide is a world class multi-disciplinary research centre that seeks to reduce the injury and economic burden of road crashes. Core activities include crash investigation, vehicle testing, data analysis, modelling and evaluation. The Centre provides opportunities that are both interesting and challenging, and allows individuals to contribute to work that can lead to profound impacts on communities. CASR is currently seeking a person with expertise in manipulating and analysing large datasets for research purposes.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A tertiary degree or higher in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis of datasets (desirably, though not necessarily, including datasets that are imperfect and obtained from a variety of sources).
  • Demonstrable communication skills including fluency in written and spoken English along with an ability to communicate scientific concepts via reports, publications, and presentations to a diverse range of audiences.
  • A strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently, and as a member of a broader team (including with external partners).
  • The ability to adapt to different research topics, understand the objectives of multiple active projects, and to dynamically prioritise contributions to achieve deadlines.
  • This position requires a valid National Police Check.
