The School of Allied Health Science and Practice seeks Expressions of Interest from registered Occupational Therapists for casual clinical educator opportunities.
From July to November 2024 , The University of Adelaide Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) program will be conducting a 15 day (one day a week for 15 weeks) Simulated Clinical Placement experience for 3rd year occupational therapy students before they commence their traditional clinical placement blocks. This placement acts as a bridge between theory and real world practice, with the aim to optimise placement readiness through development of student foundational professional behaviours, communication, and clinical skills in a standardised manner.
The Simulated Clinical Placement course involves student participation in a range of simulated client case studies, indirect clinical activities, and non- clinical tasks reflective of what would be encountered during a traditional clinical placement. The primary simulated clinical case studies involve trained actors playing the role of the patient. The inpatient simulated placement experience will take place within the University's 12-bed simulated health care facility and include access to a variety of other university facilities to optimise student experience. Experienced Occupational Therapists are required to facilitate and supervise these simulated learning experiences as casual clinical educators.
