Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist
About this position:
We are looking for a highly qualified bioinformatician or computational biologist with in-depth knowledge of comparative plant genomics. You are expected to contribute to research projects focused on in-depth analysis of chromosomal and genome evolution in the Brassicaceae family (crucifers, the mustard family) in the research group of Prof. Dr. Martin Lysak, www. plantcytogenomics.cz.
Research project description:
Our group is one of the world's leading teams in the field of comparative and evolutionary genomics of the model plant family Brassicaceae. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to perform family-wide analyzes and syntheses based on high-quality genome assemblies. The various topics studied in the group include ancestral genome reconstruction, subgenome-level analysis of diploidized polyploid genomes, (peri-)centromere structure and evolution, epigenetic changes and 3D interphase chromatin organization.
