(HEO5) $77,409 to $86,072 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Continuing, full-time opportunity available immediately due to an internal promotion.

This opportunity would suit candidates that are comfortable with jumping from one task to another and enjoy working in a close team environment.

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for assisting in the financial set up of research agreements in the People Soft Finance Grants module, processing financial variations as well as initiating invoicing, collaborator payments and preparing financial statements.

This role also assists with various external reporting requirements including the collection and analysis of research income and expenditure for ABS returns, annual Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) return and for the provision of internal and external audit requirements.

To be successful you will need:

  • An understanding of management accounting systems and processes.
  • Basic understanding of legislation/requirements relating to research income and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in the collection, manipulation, analysis and reporting of data.
  • Demonstrated high level Excel skills.
  • Experience in the provision of high-quality management accounting services.
