About The Manchester Metropolitan University

Established in 1824, Manchester Metropolitan University is a highly-ranked public institution for higher education and research in England. It was initially set up as the Manchester Mechanics Institute. The institution went through several structural and name changes over the years before it attained the university status in 1992 under its current name. The university is accredited by the University Alliance. It has affiliations from the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the North West Universities Association (NWUA).

Manchester Metropolitan University operates from two campuses: All Saints which is located in the center of Manchester and Birley Campus on the edge of the city center. The university campuses feature avant-garde academic buildings, administrative offices, recreational centers, and student residences. The libraries hold extensive collections of unique and precious printed volumes and digital resources for the reference of students and teachers. Each library maintains group study and individual reading spaces, computer systems, and scanning, printing and photocopying facilities.

The Students Union is in the heart of our Manchester campus, The Union is home to a food bar, pub, shop, advice center, event space and various other essentials at student-friendly prices. It is also where you will find full-time student officers who are elected each year by the student body to run the Union and represent their interests locally and nationally. There are several cafes and food outlets across the campuses, providing healthy and delicious food and drinks. Students can access free Wi-Fi at every corner of the campuses. Other facilities at the campuses include multi-faith centers and prayer halls, support centers, fitness suites, gymnasiums, gaming centers, outdoor pitches, and indoor sports halls. The university manages about 11 residence halls that provide accommodation to students in en-suites and standard rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchens

Manchester Metropolitan University is a diverse community of over 38,000 students from over 140 countries. At Manchester Met, students can indulge in sports such as basketball, cricket, boxing, archery, badminton, table tennis, swimming, rugby, netball, lacrosse, water polo, volleyball, tennis, taekwondo, and football. Further, the Students' Union manages several clubs, organizations, and societies that focus on diverse educational and recreational interests to offer the best possible experience on the campus.
