  • About the Role We are seeking a Workplace Interior Designer to help create functional and inspiring environments that reflect the future of work at Swinburne University of Technology. Reporting to the Associate Director, Estate and Space Planning, you will manage end-to-end workplace design projects, engaging stakeholders to develop functional briefs and deliver innovative, user-focused solutions that align with industry best practices and emerging trends.

    Key responsibilities include delivering small design and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) projects independently and coordinating larger projects in collaboration with external vendors. You will also help maintain accurate and up-to-date design guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across workplace initiatives. This role offers a dynamic and autonomous environment, working closely with cross-disciplinary teams to align design outcomes with operational needs, while promoting user well-being and productivity. Candidates who have an interest in workplace change and/or education spaces would be well suited for this role.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Proven experience in executing workplace design projects from briefing to delivery
  • Strong FF&E knowledge, including specification, procurement, and installation
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement workplace design guidelines
  • Familiarity with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite) and tools

    Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
