We have an exciting secondment opportunity into the new Triage and Outreach team as a full-time E Grade Wellbeing Advisor available immediately on a fixed term, until March 2025.
The role will be to support the team with delivering drop-in/triage appointments for the service and signposting them onto further support in a stepped care approach. The role would be largely based on campus with face to face appointments being offered from Reed Mews, Mardon Hill and Hailey Wing.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – predominately on campus, with some opportunities to also work from home (to be discussed with the Triage and Outreach Pathway Lead).
Summary of the role
Wellbeing Services has been established to provide a range of health promotion events on campus, as well as to develop illness prevention and intervention services. Our vision is to offer accessible and flexible support for the whole range of wellbeing issues that can impact upon student learning. We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic staff who can contribute to our vision for Wellbeing Services through supporting and helping to develop a new Triage and Outreach team, offering comprehensive initial triage appointments to our diverse student community while advancing our University-wide outreach work. We currently seek to offer 140 initial triage appointments per week. Initial Triage Appointments (Drop-Ins) provide space for a student to share their difficulties and create an action plan with a practitioner to move forward.
About You
You will be skilled at identifying wellbeing needs, signposting accordingly, identifying and screening for risk and completing any necessary onward referrals, including liaison with other departments – both internal to Wellbeing Services, the wider University and External services. You will be an experienced practitioner within the wellbeing/welfare field who has a thoughtful and adaptable approach to your work, with a real interest in sensitively supporting students with potentially complex difficulties. You will have a passion for early-intervention and supporting the wider service Outreach work to encourage students to reach out for mental health and wellbeing support.
