  • Our vision is for IT to be a valued business partner, providing innovative services to our students and staff and as Voice & Data Network Specialist, you will be responsible for both the technical delivery of the telephony transformation and the day-to-day management and support of the infrastructure, systems, and services. Your role will be key in ensuring that the new and existing Telephony technologies are fully supported and are highly available, reliable, and secure.

    Working closely with the Network & Telephony Design Manager, you will play a key role in the creation of data and voice strategies and driving continual service improvement. As a technical subject matter expert in a team of voice and data specialists, you will define, develop, enforce, and maintain standards and controls for all data & voice related services/technology. You will also establish effective communications within IT Services and the wider University to ensure services are fit for purpose and fit for use.

    The Person

    This is a hands-on role, which would ideally suit someone who is forward- thinking, innovative, curious, high-energy, self-aware, who is passionate about making a positive difference, and who thrives in an inclusive and diverse university community. Ideally, you will have experience of working in mature environments where you have been involved in supporting a large-scale telephony & Network Infrastructure within a complex organisation. Working with the wider University you will understand how technology and IT services can impact both the student and staff experience providing recommendations on how we can exploit technologies within the Network & Telephony space.

Our key functions are to innovate, implement and support an extensive range of digital services across the University to assist our community access and process information to achieve their goals.

    This is a full time, fixed term position until 30 November 2026 with a starting salary of £44,154 per annum.
