  • Full-Time, Fixed-Term contract until 31 December 2024

  • Teacher Level 2.2 - 5 (Depending on Qualifications and Experience) plus superannuation.

  • Based at the Melbourne, Brunswick or Bundoora campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.

  • About You

    As a VE Teacher (Aeronautical Engineering) you will be mainly responsible for delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in selected aeronautical related courses within the School. You will participate in the School's continuing review of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment.

    This role interacts with external organisations, industry groups and RMIT teaching and administration staff. Your performance will be underpinned by participation in relevant activities which ensure your vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.

    Teaching experience in either Aeronautical, Aeroskills, Aerospace engineering and Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) is desirable

    To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Familiarity teaching within any of the following course subjects would be highly desirable: Aeronautical Engineering Fundamentals, Apply Quality Standards, CAD, 3D CAD and Aero Modelling.

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills qualification is desirable.

  • Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.

  • Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.

  • Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.

  • Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.

  • Qualifications

  • Teaching qualifications – Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment as a minimum. Higher qualifications in Vocational Education Training will be highly regarded.
  • Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
