About the roleWe have a new opportunity for a Trainee Engineering Technician to join the Technical Services team and support our Laboratories and Workshops.
Based primarily in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, you will join a team of multi-skilled technicians, who provide technical support to both teaching and research in the Department. Amongst the work the team supports are timetabled undergraduate teaching sessions, numerous student competition teams and a wide range of research activities.
You will receive training with a view to supporting departmental activity in a range of disciplines including:
Support will be provided by the existing technical team to build your skills in many of the above disciplines, in turn supporting colleagues and students within the department and beyond. As this is a student-facing role, you need to be confident working and communicating with a diverse student population.
