The Long Island campus Test Center is looking for a part time Test Proctor to
assist with exam setup and proctoring for students with accessibility needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proctoring exams for students – ensuring all students receive their
accommodations, allotted times, report any issues or concerns, contact
professors if necessary
Properly implementing the Test Center Policies and Procedures. This
includes the following: Documenting exam information on all forms required
– both online and hard copy, inputting information into the online
scheduling system, filing, computer setup, proctoring (includes scribing,
read-to), and returning exams
Clerical duties (appointment documentation, record keeping, filing,
answering phones, scheduling appointments, setting up exams, reserving
proctors, reserving rooms when applicable)
Adhering to and explaining all exam policies, campus policies, ADA
regulations, FERPA regulations, and academic integrity – training on site
provided
Retrieving/returning exams across campus when necessary
Accurate record keeping & documentation
Professional interactions with faculty, administrators, and students
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR 2+ years working with students with disabilities
Knowledge of ADA regulations
Knowledge of FERPA regulations
Essential Skills:
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Experience working with and assisting students with disabilities
Able to be discrete with student information & accommodations
Detail-oriented
Takes initiative, is motivated, and adaptable
Able to keep accurate and thorough records
Able to adhere to all office and campus policies and procedures
Working knowledge Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canvas (or a similar
online class/exam platform), a quick study with learning new computer
skills and applications
Preferred Skills:
Experience with accessible technologies
Fluency in Spanish a plus
Experience with an online appointment scheduling system
Experience working in a testing environment or school
Additional Information and Application Process:
This is a part time, 10 month, on-campus position, 20 hours per week, four or
five days per week. The open position is for the hours 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.,
Monday through Thursday.
Starting Salary – $15.00/hour
