Test Proctor June 2, 2023 Long Island Campus Student Accessibility Services and Tutoring and Academic Development

The Long Island campus Test Center is looking for a part time Test Proctor to assist with exam setup and proctoring for students with accessibility needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proctoring exams for students – ensuring all students receive their accommodations, allotted times, report any issues or concerns, contact professors if necessary
  • Properly implementing the Test Center Policies and Procedures. This includes the following: Documenting exam information on all forms required – both online and hard copy, inputting information into the online scheduling system, filing, computer setup, proctoring (includes scribing, read-to), and returning exams
  • Clerical duties (appointment documentation, record keeping, filing, answering phones, scheduling appointments, setting up exams, reserving proctors, reserving rooms when applicable)
  • Adhering to and explaining all exam policies, campus policies, ADA regulations, FERPA regulations, and academic integrity – training on site provided
  • Retrieving/returning exams across campus when necessary
  • Accurate record keeping & documentation
  • Professional interactions with faculty, administrators, and students
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree OR 2+ years working with students with disabilities
  • Knowledge of ADA regulations
  • Knowledge of FERPA regulations
  • Essential Skills:
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working with and assisting students with disabilities
  • Able to be discrete with student information & accommodations
  • Detail-oriented
  • Takes initiative, is motivated, and adaptable
  • Able to keep accurate and thorough records
  • Able to adhere to all office and campus policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canvas (or a similar online class/exam platform), a quick study with learning new computer skills and applications
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with accessible technologies
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Experience with an online appointment scheduling system
  • Experience working in a testing environment or school
  • Additional Information and Application Process:

    This is a part time, 10 month, on-campus position, 20 hours per week, four or five days per week. The open position is for the hours 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Starting Salary – $15.00/hour Please send resumes to Katie Blumenthal ([email protected]).
