Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-track Professoriate Positions in the Department of Mathematics (Ref.: 524572) under the HKU Global Professoriate Recruitment Campaign (https: // www. prof- scholars.hku.hk/), to commence as soon as possible on a 3-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second 3-year fixed-term contract. Direct tenure may be offered to outstanding Professor/Associate Professor candidates. The University may consider the conferment of a Chair Professor title to suitable appointees.
The Department of Mathematics provides a solid general undergraduate education in Mathematics, offers supervision in graduate study for students with a strong interest in and a capacity for Mathematics, and engages in teaching and research aiming at a high international standing. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics; all areas will be considered. The appointees will take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision of postgraduate students, and academic research. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. A start-up package that is commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will be provided.
