The Department of Physics at Villanova University invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning in Fall 2027. We are seeking outstanding teacher-scholars to establish an innovative, externally-funded research program and to engage students as active participants in that research. The successful candidates will demonstrate strong potential for excellence in both teaching and scholarship and a commitment to contributing to the intellectual community of the department and university. We seek candidates whose research can complement and expand existing strengths in the department and provide compelling opportunities for student research. Applications in alignment with the Department’s strategic goal to expand strengths in quantum science and photonics are especially encouraged. Exceptional candidates in other areas of physics that would similarly strengthen the Department and strategic vision will also be considered. The Villanova Physics Department has active research programs in condensed matter physics, biological physics, photonics and quantum optics, and astrophysics and cosmology. Our faculty pursue research in a collaborative environment that emphasizes the integration of scholarship and undergraduate education. Students have opportunities to participate directly in faculty research programs, including through sustained research experiences and senior research projects. Duties and Responsibilities:	In addition to maintaining an active research agenda leading to publication, our new colleague will teach undergraduate courses in his/her area of expertise, as well as other departmental courses, in a way that fosters connections across the discipline and the Villanova community.
Minimum Qualifications:	Ph.D. is required as well as outstanding research potential and excellence in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:	Post-doctoral experience in Physics or a closely aligned field is preferred.
