  • About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

    About the Role:

Residential Services manage a portfolio of owned and leased student residential accommodation, as well as arms-length accommodation provision arrangements with a number of private accommodation providers. The service manages year-round student residential stays, as well as visiting commercial residential bookings, including summer schools. We typically house those that want our accommodation for an academic year and then support all students with sourcing on going private sector accommodation for subsequent years of study.

Working as the Cambridge representative of the Tenancy Support team you'll respond to tenant queries, organise social and recreation events for residents, and provide house hunting services, including supporting students to find temporary accommodation when necessary. You'll also manage our relationships with private sector landlords in and around Cambridge. The role also requires that you take part in an out-of-hours emergency response rota, providing support for our duty student Residential Assistants on site, including advice and referral to specialist services, as well as gate keeping emergency maintenance responses.

With a degree or appropriate level of experience including ongoing professional development, you'll have previous experience in a relevant customer focussed environment. An effective communicator, you'll be conscientious and have good organisational skills. Knowledge of current student housing sector issues, Data Protection and applicable Health & Safety legislation are essential for this role.

Informal enquiries can be made to Atticus Hansell, Tenancy Support Manager at [email protected]
