  • Position Summary:

    The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) seeks candidates for multiple temporary positions throughout the year. Applicants will be reviewed on an as-needed basis to provide support in the areas of Marine Biology, Oceanography, Fisheries, or related areas, and assist in further promoting the academic and research missions of the College.     Duties:

    100Perform technical, professional or clerical work for the department within the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. Duties will vary based on the position: -Carry out work in the field and the laboratory -Organize, analyze and interpret data results for reporting -Possible work in remote locations to assist with field sampling and processing -Clerical functions in support of the departmentEssential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience and knowledge of science practices, procedures, and activities related to the areas of Marine Biology, Oceanography, Fisheries, or other related fields (dependent upon the specific position). Ability to travel, life heavy objects, etc. dependent on the requirements of the position. Ability to exhibit a high degree of professionalism, communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and use sound judgment.

    Required Experience & Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent, additional education, training, licensing and/or certification is dependent upon the position. Additionally, the candidate must possess the appropriate training and/or education required for the position.

    The level of experience/training is dependent on the specific position: -Training in scientific laboratory and/or field site techniques in areas of Marine Biology, Oceanography, Fisheries or related areas. -Safety training, Haz Mat handling, shipping, computer software, or other training.

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time, temporary, non-exempt position. New hires will be placed on the UA FY24 Temporary Staff Salary Schedule based on education and experience.
