Dona Ana Community College (DACC) is a comprehensive, learning-centered community college dedicated to a diverse population of learners in support of student success, workforce and economic development and lifelong learning. Assist in developing, revising, and updating curriculum in collaboration with the lead department faculty member. Develop and teach online or in-person courses. Instruct, support, advise and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy and procedures. Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities and meetings as required. Submit required course (e.g., syllabi, grades, attendance reports, etc.) and employment-related documents (e.g., transcripts) in a timely manner. Uphold the department's mission and vision. Perform other related duties as assigned. Maintain a clear record of all student evaluations and grades.
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in Anthropology, Communication, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Health Law, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Public Health, Political Science, Journalism, Social Work, Sociology, Spanish, or related field. All applicants must have both a Master's Degree in the field and 18 graduate credits in the discipline. Degree must be in hand by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications (optional)
Experience teaching post-secondary students. Experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs. Demonstrated experience teaching and relating to students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. Bilingual competence in Spanish and English will be considered an asset.
Special Requirements of the Position Special Instructions to Applicants
This is a temporary appointment with pre-determined employment dates. Temporary employees have no entitlement or expectation of continued employment during or beyond the appointment period. Position may average 10 hours per week. Applications for fall teaching assignments must apply by July 1. Spring teaching assignments must apply by November 1. FTE is based off a 3 credit course load.
