The School of Sport Science & Physical Activity (SSPA) is located within the Faculty of Education & Sport on the Bedford Campus and has an unbroken tradition in Physical Education & Sport provision dating back to 1903. Applications are invited for the position of Technician in Sport, Rehabilitation& Exercise Science.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic school that delivers ten undergraduate and five taught postgraduate courses. The school has a thriving postgraduate research community and works closely with the Institute of Sport & Physical Activity Research.
Based in the excellently equipped, purpose built, multimillion pound, state of the art, Sports & Exercise Science Laboratories and Rehabilitation clinics at the University of Bedfordshire, Bedford Campus, which boasts the following purpose built facilities:

Successful applicants should have a degree in sports & exercise science or sports rehabilitation and recent experience of providing technical support in a Sport & Exercise Science laboratory or sports rehabilitation clinic within a Higher Education environment. It would also be essential that the person is experienced in collecting finger prick and/or venous blood samples or has a willingness to undertake training to collect blood on a regular basis.
The appointee will support the running of the Sport & Exercise Science Laboratories and Sport Rehabilitation clinics, prepare and assist with practical lessons, research and consultancy for the School's students and academic staff. Further duties will include assisting with a wide variety of activities including, working with blood, calibration and maintenance of equipment and laboratories, the movement, storage, inventory checks and set up of equipment throughout the laboratories and clinics.
