Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $ 12.50 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function

Technical Training Center Specialist – Instructor will be primarily responsible for maintaining a high level of safety within the Technical Training Center facility. Instructor will be responsible for teaching participant's proper belay and tie-in technique using the figure eight follow through knot, lead clipping and climbing, and rappelling. Must have a firm understanding of al lanchorable surfaces in facility and work at height experience. Facilitates special groups. Position reports to Coordinator, Outdoor Program and the Student Manager.

Required Qualifications

Previous climbing experience is necessary. Has complete the AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course and/or Exam and is maintain certification. Must attend all trainings Technical Training Center employee Instructor trainings. American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and standard First Aid Certifications. Familiarity in belaying, tie in knots, and general climbing equipment. Ability to climb 5.8 on lead. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision.
