Curtin University invites applications for the role of Technical Operations Coordinator, a key position designed to drive the operational excellence of our Bentley Campus's technical facilities, supporting Western Australian School of Mines, Minerals Energy and Chemical Engineering (WASM:MECE). This role offers the unique opportunity to lead a team dedicated to supporting cutting-edge teaching and research. This is a Monday to Friday position - no weekends. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
Your new role
As a Technical Operations Coordinator supporting WASM:MECE Bentley, you will coordinate the day-to-day operational requirements of the laboratory and workshop spaces, supporting primarily Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy and Energy Engineering activities, ensuring effective space allocation for classes and/or research projects. You'll provide leadership to the team, fostering and encouraging a positive work environment through the provision of mentoring, training, development, and performance management.
You'll work with and support the Technical Operations Manager (TOM) and Head of School (HOS) with resource and staff planning to ensure adequate skills coverage to meet the area's operational objectives.
You will play an important role in ensuring that occupational health and safety regulations and specific statutory requirements related to the area's activities are followed. Developing, implementing, and maintaining standard operating procedures for all aspects of the laboratory and workshop operations.
No two days are the same, this is an active and engaging role where you will be able to put your strong problem-solving skills to the test.
