Based in UniSA Education Futures at the Mawson Lakes campus

Full-time, continuing position

Commencement Salary: $70,476 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader: Technical Services, you will provide technical support for activities within the Academic Unit's teaching and research environments. This is a hands-on teaching position, and your focus will be to apply theoretical knowledge and practical techniques to a range of procedures and tasks, including providing advice and assistance to staff and students in preparing studio and workshop activities, instructing in the use of equipment, and facilitating a strong engagement in experiential learning. You will also be responsible for ensuring that facilities and equipment are used in accordance with good OHSW practices.

Essential Skills and Experience

Post-secondary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience

As this is a hands-on teaching position, you will require knowledge of woodwork, metalwork, welding and advanced manufacturing and relevant plant and equipment used within that skillset

Demonstrated experience and expertise in working with technical (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), and/or arts and/or Physical Education equipment

Highly developed organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects within tight timelines whilst working independently and as a member of a team

Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements in providing a safe working environment in the technical areas of the School of Education

Proven experience in maintaining technical and industry knowledge
