A Technical Architect is responsible for designing and implementing ICT solutions that meet the needs and objectives of Curtin stakeholders. They are proficient in AWS Platform and can leverage its services to create software solutions that are reliable, scalable, and secure. They keep up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices. They are a skilled solution architect who has acquired extensive knowledge and experience in AWS.

Your new role

We have an exciting position available for an experienced and innovative Technical Architect to join our high performing team. Working within the Digital Platforms team, a key component of the university's digital platform, you will assist to elevate all three major platforms, including AWS, Microsoft and ServiceNow from their foundational stages to a state of advanced maturity.

As the Technical Architect, you will be responsible for the:

  • Develop ICT solutions aligned with Curtin's business needs and digital strategy.
  • Lead cloud-based strategy development and adaptation process.
  • Propose and implement cloud-based strategy focused on reducing maintenance and costs.
  • Create and maintain documentation for cloud solutions and guide cloud adoption.
  • Contribute to the management and enhancement of Curtin's cloud architecture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, to define requirements and establish consensus around cloud-based solutions.
  • Assist in developing ICT architecture vision and roadmap aligned with university strategies.
  • Provide architectural support and solution insights for business engagements.
  • Establish trust with Curtin project and technology team to guide projects through.
  • Service as a representative for Digital & Technology Solutions in university committees.
  • Actively build relationships with partners, vendors, and the IT industry to shape strategic directions and ICT architecture.
  • We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant degree or professional qualifications in Information and Communication Technology and/or relevant experience in the field of information technology.
  • Significant experience with Cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft, and Google.
  • Ability to provide architectural guidance and advice on AWS environment management, including Access Management, Identity Federation, Control Tower, AWS Organisations and Service Control Policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as provide technical leadership and mentoring to fellow team members.
  • As this is a permanent position, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role to be considered. This position is based at our Curtin Bentley campus, candidates are expected to either be currently located in Perth, WA, or express a willingness to relocate.
