The MSSc programme in Global Political Economy (MGPE) of the Faculty of Social Science is an intensive one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme which broadens students' horizon on the wide-ranging and fast- changing connections between global changes and local developments in politics, economics and beyond. The Faculty is inviting applications for a Teaching Assistant post for the MGPE Programme.

Applicants should possess:

i. a good Master degree related to global political economy, preferably in social sciences (such as but not limited to political science, social psychology, sociology, economics and human geography) or law;

ii. good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua;

iii. good interpersonal skills;

iv. ability to be self-motivated and to work independently; and

v. research or teaching experience (not a must but will be an advantage).

The appointee is expected to:

a. collaborate with course teachers and the Programme Office to facilitate in- class discussions or practicum;

b. assist teachers with course material production, classroom instruction, maintaining records, and grading assignments;

c. provide administrative support for programme administration, class and examination logistics, student affairs, programme promotion and other related academic activities; and

d. perform other duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing from July 2024, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.

Review of applications will commence from April 2024 on a rolling basis.
