We are now inviting applications for the position of Teaching Assistant (1-3 positions). The position is aimed at the degree students of University of Vaasa. The position can either be part-time or hourly based. The position is for a fixed term with a starting date as agreed or at the latest in January 2025, and ending in 30.6.2025. The location of the position is Vaasa, Finland.
The position is located in the School of Marketing and Communications.
Your Role
The teaching assistant assists the teachers of the School's Bachelor and Master's programs. University's support network for teaching and learning offers teaching assistants orientation and regular support for the task. Examples of teaching assistant duties:
Requirements
The person selected for the position needs to have good information and communication technical capabilities and good interaction skills. We expect you to take initiative and be eager to learn new things. English language skills are a necessity for performing well in the position, and knowledge of other languages can be considered an advantage depending on the task.
Work time and salary
The salary is based on both the job requirement and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the Finnish University Salary System (YPJ). The salary for a Teaching Assistant is based on demand level 1 (for a full- time position, approximately 1900 euros/month). An additional personal salary component is paid based on the experience and skills of the person selected for the position. The position can be either part-time or hourly-based (approximately, 13 euros/hour). Working hours and duration of the agreement are agreed upon when entering into an employment relationship.
If the applicant's qualifications and experience allow, the task may also include evaluation of teaching tasks, in which case the task would be placed at demand level 2 of the teaching and research staff requirement framework.
