Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a tangible difference in transport planning? We need someone to join our team as a Sustainable Transport Officer at Oxford University.

About the Role:

As a Sustainable Transport Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering on the transport commitments outlined in our Environmental Sustainability strategy. Reporting to the Sustainable Transport Manager, you'll work collaboratively to support sustainable transport initiatives across our university campus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a central resource and advisory service on all Sustainable Transport matters.

• Liaise with local authorities, transport operators, and stakeholders to promote and coordinate sustainable transport initiatives.

• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Proactively engage with university departments to develop and deliver our Transport Strategy objectives.

• Coordinate awareness campaigns to promote sustainable travel behaviour.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through various channels.

• Identify and implement physical measures to promote modal shift.

• Develop methods for monitoring the success of the Transport Strategy and produce annual reports.

Selection Criteria: Essential

• Educated to degree level (or other equivalent qualification)

• Knowledge of the UK planning system and local government workings.

• Experienced in the preparation and delivery of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.

• Good analytical and communication skills.

• Professional demeanor with the ability to build effective relationships.

• Ability to deliver projects within time and budget constraints.

Selection Criteria: Desirable

• Experience with corporate Travel Plans/ Green Travel Plans.

• Strong numerical and communication skills with attention to detail.
