Faculty of Humanities
Curtin's Faculty of Humanities has three academic schools that deliver a range
of undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree by research (HDR) courses.
The three academic Schools are Curtin School of Education, Curtin School of
Design and the Built Environment, School of Media, Creative Arts and Social
Inquiry.
Your new role
You will deliver high quality teaching administration support across various
schools within the Faculty of Humanities.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support Faculty Learning and Teaching administration activities.
Ensure critical university dates and deadlines are adhered to.
Assist with course and unit administration preparation and processes.
Respond to queries and provide students with access to course and unit
materials.
Execute administrative processes related to learning and teaching.
Provide user guidance to academic staff in the use of digital teaching
delivery systems.
Essential Criteria:
A degree qualification; or a diploma qualification with considerable
relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience
and/or education/training.
Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to others on procedural matters
and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, especially the ability to deal with a
wide variety of people with cross cultural sensitivity, providing a client
focussed service.
Demonstrated well developed written and oral communication skills with the
ability to communicate information clearly and professionally.
Demonstrated ability to organise work activities according to priorities
and to multi-task to ensure deadlines are effectively met.
Demonstrated ability to show initiative and the ability to solve problems
arising from non-standard issues.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as
part of a team.
Demonstrated computer literacy with skills in in a wide range of
applications including word processing and/or spreadsheet packages and
email.
Desirable Criteria
Experience in a student and/or academic support related position.
Demonstrated understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
Proficiency in Curtin's systems, applications and programs, such as
Blackboard, Student One and Akari.
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work
rights in Australia to be considered.
