Position Summary

Job Summary

Museum assistant duties are connected to a variety of the museum's day to day operations, including guest services, special projects, and exhibit monitoring. Guest Services responsibilities will include providing basic customer service; exhibit monitoring will include overseeing the exhibit floor and interacting with museum guests; and additional projects will include program preparation, assisting with various museum special projects, and serving as a floater within the museum.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and orienting guests to the museum, running register, and providing basic customer service.
  • Monitoring the exhibit floor for organization, cleanliness, and safety; resetting exhibits
  • Assisting with programs and activities, including research, development, preparation, and implementation
  • Assisting with opening and closing procedures, including daily cleaning

    Education

    Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior. All Majors.

    Experience

    Experience and interest in working with children.

    Additional Requirements

  • This position is paid $10.00 per hour, with an estimate of 5 hours weekly.
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study
  • Must be able to provide clearances for PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting Check (for those who have lived outside of the state of PA within the last 10 years).
