  • Role Description Department

    The Department of Education and the Department of Politics and International Relations are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic administrator to join the Professional Support Services team to provide maternity cover from 25 November 2024 to 24 November 2025. The successful candidate will work in an interesting and varied student-facing role, providing a professional and efficient administrative service for students and staff.

    Role

    Under the direction of the Student Services Coordinators and working closely with the Student Services Manager and relevant academic staff, the Student Services Administrator will provide a full range of administrative duties supporting the student lifecycle, from pre-arrival to graduation, including admissions, maintaining student records, programme and module management, administration of assessments and supporting committees. The role holder will be responsible for designated programmes within the Department and is expected to work as part of a team providing mutual cover for other colleagues within the Student Services Team.

    Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed
  • Level 2 qualification including Maths and English. (Qualifications at this level include five GCSEs at grade A-C/ grade 4-9. Please view the full list in the Job Description). We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-uk qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience of following administrative procedures and processes used in a busy office within a large complex organisation.
  • IT skills, with knowledge and experience using the Google Suite (particularly Drive, Sheets and Docs) and the ability to learn specialist software and bespoke systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively organise and prioritise own work, exercise initiative and work independently in order to produce work to a high standard, to required deadlines.
  • Experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team ensuring knowledge is shared effectively.
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • A professional approach to work, a willingness to help and a positive outlook.
