Combining the collective strengths from the former University of York Management School and the Department of Social Policy & Social Work provides a unique opportunity, working collectively with sta¿ and students and our partners to pioneer impactful interdisciplinary research and teaching for public good, delivering inclusive growth. Fusing of our disciplines together provides a unique intellectual opportunity to tackle shared grand challenges.
RoleThis is a part-time role at 0.8 FTE in the Faculty of Social Sciences (based in the School of Business and Society). The School Marketing Manager reports directly to the Head of Faculty Marketing and Recruitment, (Social Sciences), who is part of the External Relations Directorate, whilst being based in the School of Business and Society. This approach gives you the best of both worlds- an inspiring academic environment and the professional expertise of working in a specialist marketing spoke community. In addition to colleagues within their own team, the post holder is expected to have regular interactions with various central ‘hub' teams and academic stakeholders, collaborating with recruitment, admissions, digital, media, and communications teams across External Relations, Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO), and International Recruitment Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) to support the University of York's vision.
In this role, you'll be responsible for primarily developing and executing localised marketing and conversion strategies for the School. You will manage the School's Digital and Social media Coordinator and collectively deliver a wide range of marketing and conversion activities from lead generation campaigns, recruitment events, brand management, and conversion activity to social media and brand awareness activity. The Faculty of Social Sciences has a strong marketing foundation, and as the Student Recruitment and Marketing Manager, you'll enhance our efforts with your leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.
