Student Recruitment and Events Officer

Job description

External Engagement and Global

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

Summary of the role

Working within Student Recruitment Operations Team, you will be supporting the delivery of the University's recruitment services across all student cohorts and markets. You will plan and deliver a range of high-profile events and engagement activities for prospective students and key stakeholders.

You will take responsibility for a calendar of activities including large in- person on-campus events such as Open Days, Offer-Holder Visit Days and Campus Tours, as well as attending off-campus recruitment fairs and events.

You will manage delivery of a suite of online events and activities supporting students from across the world through pre-application, conversion and confirmation. You will be expected to work alongside members of the Student Recruitment Operations Team to plan and support the contributions of academic and support staff and Exeter Student Ambassadors.

This role will also have specific responsibility for working with colleagues across the University to support development and delivery of annualised recruitment pathways for specified cohorts of students progressing to the University of Exeter.

Highly organised, with demonstrable experience in planning, delivering and evaluating large-scale events, both in person and online, you will be innovative, creative and committed to delivering an excellent customer experience with high levels of customer service and care. You will demonstrate a good understanding of the needs and requirements of students throughout the recruitment journey, across all study cohorts and across Home and international markets.

Educated to degree level and IT literate, you will demonstrate the ability to work at pace across a range of different projects in a matrix management team structure, prioritising and managing your time effectively. You will be confident running events online and have some experience with using web-based portals and video conferencing platforms. You will demonstrate a good understanding of the student recruitment process and HE recruitment environment and understand the scope for innovation in digital student recruitment.

With excellent communication skills, you will be a brand ambassador for the University of Exeter, confident in working with groups of pupils from various age groups and domiciles. Confidence in public speaking, the role will be required to brief Professional Services and Faculty colleagues and Student Ambassadors, as well as present to large groups of prospective students and key stakeholders and influencers.

Owing to the nature of the role, the post-holder will be expected to work such additional hours as are reasonably necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post; this will include occasional evening and weekend work. There will also be some work away from the University and across our campuses.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
