The Center for Belonging and Cultural Engagement (CBCE)'s mission is to create understanding, cultivate belonging and enrich our Wildcat community by sharing the arts, heritage, history and beliefs of diverse cultures. We value these representative experiences and the engagement opportunities they provide with the community. Our vision is to build belonging by learning with and from each other, validating our unique experiences, to raise awareness and understanding of the history, culture and heritage of historically underrepresented populations in higher education.

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Student Program Support Specialist will support the cultural centers' needs while supporting the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion division as a whole. The Student Program Support Specialist will assist with event planning, collecting, entering, and analyzing data, tabling at events, marketing CBCE programs, and supporting in other ways as needed by the centers.

Through intentional programmatic learning outcomes, the Student Program Support Specialist will gain transferable skills for the workforce. They will also be immersed in the community and work with our campus partners and student leaders.

This position works for one academic year during the Fall and Spring semesters, up to 20 hours a week—the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends when necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 10% Announce/promote CBCE events, activities and programs to campus and community partners.
  • 5% Knowing resources on and off campus.
  • 10% Understanding university policy and procedures at Weber State.
  • 5% Refer students to appropriate Weber State services or departments when applicable.
  • 40% Complete tasks assigned by the Program Manager.
  • 10% Collaborating across campus on events and programs.
  • 5% Attend staff meeting(s).
  • 5% Complete required trainings.
  • 10% Collecting, entering, and analyzing data.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

    ● Undergraduate student: Must be registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours. ● Graduate student: Must be registered for a minimum of 5 credit hours. ● Must be eligible for work-study. ● Must maintain GPA requirements for work-study.
