This student position will give you the opportunity to gain more customer service skills, and experience the world of financial transactions and cash handling! Job Duties are primarily clerical/office, in addition to helping out our department managers with routine tasks. We offer a flexible schedule that works around your class schedule. This position would be a great position for a student who is looking to work full-time during the summer break in a dynamic and team-oriented office. The Office of the Bursar is a focal point for fiscal and business matters on campus. It serves a very largenumber of students, faculty, staff, agencies, and the general public in a wide range of activities. Thequality of service provided is often a determining factor in the perception of the university as a whole

    Duties:

    100Works under general direction. Exercises independent judgment and decision- making in developing new procedures or techniques. May involve supervision of other student employees. Examples of typical work include: performing complex computer programming, network operations or troubleshooting; advance technical computer maintenance; research, writing or assisting in writing technical reports; assisting in complex technical aspects of complex projects. May be responsible for a facility, building, activity, or program. May coordinate the use of equipment, building space, or programs.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Working knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel and database applications with the ability to perform data searches using the internet.

    Ability to pay close attention to detail, work in an organized manner, follow instructions and work without close supervision.

    Must act in a professional manner at all times and maintain confidentiality and security of all information.

    Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures and practices and possess basic clerical skills including accurate typing and filing. Must be familiar with office equipment (fax, copiers, calculators, personal computers, printers and phones).

    Must be able to cordially and tactfully deal with diverse individuals, as well as have excellent personal, written, and phone communication skills.

    Preferred Experience:

    Prefer six (6) months or more of general office experience: sufficient to perform the responsibilities of the position and to have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Required Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent.

    UA Board of Regents' Policy P09.05.020 states that in order to be eligible for student employment, graduate and undergraduates must be enrolled in, and regularly attending, a minimum of six (6) credit hours in the current semester of employment or have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters.

    Applicant must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA).

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time temporary student position, $16.50 per hour, up to 20 hours per week while is in session.

    Additional hours may be available during winter/summer breaks.
