Position Title Student Nutrition Laboratory (Work-Study)

Position Summary

Student sets up and takes down food labs, nutrition labs, helps maintain labs, and assists laboratory instructors and graduate assistants as needed. This includes assisting with inventory, organization, and cleaning.

This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work- Study Program.

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to conduct inventory for pantry and laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Must be able to set up and take down food and nutrition labs, and do laundry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and nutrition equipment, ability to complete tasks on time, ability to work as a team.
  • Good oral communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Required Education

  • Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program with preference given to current nutrition major(s).
  • Introduction to Nutrition, Principles of Food Preparation and Laboratory.
  • Required Work Experience Preferred Qualifications Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Work Hours

  • General availability during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
  • May work up to 25 hours per week. Work schedule to be determined, based on student schedule;
  • Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to up to 30 pounds.
