Oversee and support success of student-athletes. Advise student-athletes academically. Counsel and register students for classes that meet degree requirements. Provide individualized academic support to ensure academic success, eligibility, and on-time graduation for each student-athlete. Assist incoming students with admissions, initial eligibility, and registration. Coordinate some special events and activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Two years of experience in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity with college students or adolescent community youth groups.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree.
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Climbing stairs. Lifting and moving.
Special Conditions for Eligibility
Knowledge of NCAA Division I eligibility requirements. Experience with PeopleSoft. Experience in university student recruiting or orientation programs. Experience with the academic advisement of student-athletes. Experience or participation in a collegiate athletic program. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment; excellent interpersonal and group presentation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff of all levels. Experience working with Microsoft programs for report writing. Experience planning special events and/or activities for students.
