About This Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a Student Coordination Officer to contribute to positive learning experiences for medical students undertaking clinical training in rural and remote placements through the delivery of student and academic administrative support services for the Mayne Academy of Rural and Remote Medicine. Under the general direction and guidance of the Team Leader, this position provides administrative support to the Academic team including updating resources on Blackboard, editing and formatting documents and liaising with Student and Academic Administration teams to provide advice on assessment and resolving routine and non-routine concerns.
This position is located at UQ Rural Clinical School Toowoomba Regional Clinical Unit and reports to the Team Leader.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing high-level customer service and support to the RRM Course Coordinator and clinical educators under the general direction of the Team Leader on matters relating to the teaching program and assessment including:
Provide high level support for various learning experiences, clinical placements, and assessments, ensuring they are appropriately scheduled and coordinated.
Provide effective and efficient administration to support clinical placements, student field trips and workshops.
Prepare and manage correspondence and enquiries, by referring for action or advice and seek timely follow-up and resolution of issues as required.
Provide administrative support to the academic team, including providing secretariat support to meetings as well as updating and distributing teaching materials and information.
This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to 15th January 2025.
At HEW level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $75,878.89 - $84,342.92, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $88,778.30 - $98,681.22 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
We are seeking a motivated, organised, and reliable Student Coordinator Officer to support the effective and efficient operation of the Rural and Remote Medicine Team.
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Additionally, you will demonstrate:
Demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for the provision of excellent client service.
Proven ability to interpret and apply a range of rules, policies and procedures.
Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills.
High-level computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and web-based educational platforms.
Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgement.
Desirable experience in and a commitment to living and working in rural and/or regional Australia.
Relevant experience in student and/or academic administration in a higher education institution or similar environment will be highly regarded.
Travel and out of hours work: Attendance at programs and/or functions outside normal business hours may be required and will be remunerated in accordance with standard University policy.
This position may require some travel; the individual must be willing to undertake air or road travel as needed particularly between the Rural Clinical School sites and any of the University's domestic campuses or locations.
