Student Cases Officer

Salary: Gr ade 7 (£37,099 - £44,263 p.a. depending on experience)

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you interested in developing your administrative career at the University? Do you have experience of Student Casework? Are you enthusiastic and committed to the delivery of an exceptional student experience? If so, this opportunity may be for you.

The University of Leeds is one of the top 75 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.

You will be part of a supportive team of ten who manage the University processes for resolution of complaints, appeals, disciplinary and other procedures. You will investigate cases, consider evidence to reach fair and balanced resolutions, and identify opportunities to improve practice across the University.

This role predominantly supports the investigation and resolution of student complaints, disciplinary and fitness to practise cases, alongside special cases of student academic progression. This includes meeting with students and staff, research and report writing. You will also work flexibly within the team, supporting other areas as workloads fluctuate.

The team currently aims to work on campus at least one day per week (Thursday). Outside of this there are opportunities for hybrid and flexible working that are adaptable to your needs.

We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in our workforce. These include people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQI+ people.
