Student Assistant IV – Mini U Camp Leader

Duties: Assist with camp tasks including registrations, attendance tracking and other support work. Supervise and schedule instructors with the support of the Mini University Program Coordinator. Act as a substitute instructor if another instructor is absent or unavailable. Help to address camper behaviour issues. Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience: Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment. Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills and self-motivated. Ability to relate to children and youth, including those from diverse populations. Preference given to current Brandon University Student; with enrollment in a graduate program or holding a graduate degree. Preference given to those in the Bachelor of Education degree program. Specialized experience is required. Previous teaching and/or leadership experience is considered a strong asset. Work with minimal to no direct supervision. Working hours may include day, evening or weekend shifts, as needed. Must provide a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. First Aid/CPR (adult/child) certification required.
