Duties: Prepare and deliver lesson plans for a variety of courses within a specific field. Responsible for overseeing camp instructors, preparing supply lists, and set up of classroom. Supervise students of different age groups during classes as well as to/from lunch. Help cover other classes if instructor is absent. Light cleaning in the workspace or classrooms. Assist other staff during busy times. May be asked to take photos as authorized and requested by Program Coordinator or Mini University Camp Leader. Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience: Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills and self-motivated. Ability to relate to children and youth, including those from diverse populations. Preference given to current Brandon University Student; nearing completion of an undergraduate degree. Preference may be given to those in the Bachelor of Education degree program. Specialized experience is required. Previous teaching and/or leadership experience is considered a strong asset. Be able to work with minimal to no direct supervision. Working hours may include day, evening or weekend shifts, as needed. Must provide a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. First Aid/CPR (adult/child) certification required.
