The Role
The Domestic Future Students team has exciting opportunities for current
Macquarie University students wanting to develop new skills, make connections
and promote the University to the next generation!
Being a Student Ambassador is a rewarding experience. You will play an
important role in promoting the University to a range of future students
through outreach activities and will undertake the following duties/tasks:
Talk to prospective students and their influencers about:
your experiences at Macquarie University including your course and extra-curricular activities.
your experience of making the transition to university.
Provide information to prospective students on courses, study options, and
pathways.
Capture prospective student details (leads) at student recruitment
events and activities.
Deliver professional presentations (in-person and online) to a range of
audiences and stakeholders (internal and external). Presentations are
prepared by the Domestic Student Recruitment team and provided to Student
Ambassadors.
Represent Macquarie University at careers markets and expos.
Conduct tours of the Macquarie University campus.
Provide event support for student recruitment activities on campus and
online.
Assist in online initiatives including social media campaigns.
Conduct telephone calling to prospective students or other stakeholders.
Handle boxes of approximately 10 kg in weight on a regular basis.
Undertake general administrative duties and office support work.
Drive University vehicles in a safe manner to various student recruitment
events (on and off campus).
To perform well in this role, you will need to be approachable, proactive,
adaptable, confident in presenting to a wide range of audiences and willing to
go the extra mile.

This position requires a Working with Children Check Clearance. You must

Current Macquarie University student with at least 1 year of study
remaining.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated
ability to communicate and present to a diverse audience group.
Passion for assisting others and providing high accurate information to
prospective students.
Integrity and dedication to high standards of personal conduct especially
when representing Macquarie University.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Availability for weekday, evening and weekend work as occasions arise.
Must hold a driver's license (full or provisional) with the ability to
drive to/in both city and regional areas. Please specify your license type
(P1, P2 or Full).
Desirable
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Prior experience in a customer service role.
Involvement in a range of extra-curricular activities at University (e.g.
student groups, sport, Global Leadership Program, PACE, exchange, mentors
etc.
